‘Ghost Hunters’, ‘Paranormal State’, and ‘Hauntings’. These are just a few of the cable programs centered around modern interest in the paranormal. In recent years, the rise of public concern with regards to the paranormal has skyrocketed not unlike the spiritual movement during the turn of the twentieth century. The last couple of decades have given birth to a ‘new-age’ unlike any other. Amidst growing concerns about the welfare of the planet, the animal kingdom, and humanity in general many people have turned to spirituality and mysticism as a means of making sense of current events. This attention has begun to diminish even further the serious nature of true paranormal research.
